1 day, 5 hours, and 34 minutes!

Hey all!! We are less than 30 hours from takeoff! This is Morgan by the way. And yes, I’m writing this at almost 1am. I just finished packing most of what I need to take. The last bit will get packed into my carry on tomorrow evening before bed. I am freaking out! This is crazy.

So as we all know, I hurt my knee. I go see my surgeon tomorrow morning as a ‘before the trip’ visit. Hoping for good news – possibly being able to start putting some weight on that leg?? 😬 …is it inappropriate to put emojis on a blog post? Oh well, I don’t care if it is or not.

I have also informed all of the hotels where we will staying about my injury/disability so we will have accommodations where it’s possible. I have also emailed a lot of the places we will be visiting. I haven’t emailed all of them but that will give me something to do during our layovers!

One last thing before I go to sleep. For those of you who didn’t hear, there was a storm on Monday night that damaged some equipment at the Kearney airport. Tuesday morning, there was the news that all flights in and out had been cancelled until the equipment was damaged. All I could think was that we were supposed to be flying out of that airport at the end of the week!!!

I freaked out and called Mom and had a mini panic attack. Mom spent an hour on the phone with the airline but since the airport hadn’t technically cancelled the flights for Friday yet (in hopes of getting the equipment fixed before then), the airline couldn’t reroute our tickets to Lincoln. SO MUCH STRESS!

Luckily, everything worked out and the flights resumed this evening (Wednesday). Phew. Crisis averted.
