Day 4, Tuesday

We left Balleyseede Castle and headed for the “Ring of Kerry” drive. Just before we reached Portmagee, we turned at what was once called Burchell’s Crossing [over a 100 years ago] and drove to the farm where Bill’s great grandfather had a dairy farm for over 40 years. The lane in was gated and padlocked shut so Morgan and I stayed behind while Christy climbed the gate and took some pictures of the old buildings.

Derrynane Beach

Further on the Ring of Kerry drive [so called because you just about circle the southwest part of County Kerry] we stopped at Derrynane Beach. It took us a couple of tries to get the right road down to the beach. Very narrow one lane roads and not marked well.

the tide was coming back in. Whoops!
It has rained on us most of the way there, but when we hit the beach, the sun came out

Torc Waterfall

On the way back down, an elderly gentleman told Morgan if she could make it on 2 sticks, he should be able to with 1 stick
Christy made the trek to the top. Morgan and I decided that the steps were not for us. [you can Christy in the blue leggings]

After the waterfall, we were on our way to Kilarney, where we stayed for the night.
