How long does it take to get from Kearney to Edinburgh? (And then to Inverness?)

We got to the airport with plenty of time to spare. Around 4 hours, to be exact. I worked on homework and mom and Gigi played cards. I paused my studies and played a game of cards with them and ended up losing. Badly.

Flying freaks me out. Taking off and landing is terrifying. Being in the air isn’t too bad but seriously, getting to that smooth sailing portion is rough. We landed in Chicago and have a little less than an hour and a half before we fly to London!! I can’t believe I’m going to be in London. Does being in the airport count as actually being “in” London? I’m saying yes.

We made it to London! After going through security, we found our gate and are boarded on the plane to Edinburgh. Gigi and I decided that we didn’t need our “old lady” compression socks for this last flight. Our knees are free! But seriously, I’m fairly certain mine would be killing me by now if I didn’t wear the socks. We still have a few hours of travel left today though since we will be making our way to Inverness. We’ve got first class tickets on the train though! (BTW, it’s been 20 hours since we left home as of right now)

24.5 hours. That’s how long we’ve been traveling. But we are in Edinburgh!! We aren’t done yet though – we still have a train to catch to Inverness. But our tickets are first class and we are sitting in a fancy lounge waiting for the train. Mom got our currency exchanged successfully from Euros to Pounds. Learn from her mistake haha and make sure to Google what currency is used wherever you’re going. Also, we found a place to store our extra bag. The man was kind of flabbergasted when I said we were storing it for a week. But it’s better than lugging it around everywhere!

The train was great! We played cards, ate, and saw some beautiful scenery. We are in Inverness, tucked into bed and ready for tomorrow. 29.5 hours of traveling. We are pooped.
