Day 1, Saturday

We left Kearney early Friday morning for Denver. Glen had his first plane ride, was first up the ramp, and loved it. His Aunt Jamie and Jordan picked him up in Denver to stay the week with them. We then flew to Newark NJ and then on to Dublin.

Ireland

After landing in Ireland Saturday morning with little sleep, getting through customs, renting the car, we were finally on our way north. It was a good thing there was just the 3 of us. Christy upgraded us to a small SUV and it was full. Out first stop was in Belfast.

Morgan was the navigator, me the backseat rider. I was not allowed to even try to navigate. LOL

Carrik-a-Rede Bridge

After the museum, we headed north again to Carrick-a-Rede Bridge and the Giant’s Causeway. It pays to travel with a person who has a handicap tag. Christy had purchased the tickets on line before Morgan dislocated her knee, so we stopped to see what we could. The parking lot was full, but Morgan had brought along her handicap tag, so parked right near the start of the trail. We made it about a quarter of the way up and she decided it was not for her. I was not looking forward to the half mile walk mostly uphill and then back down again, but figured if she was game, I was.

Long way to the top and then still more to go
This is the bridge that we didn’t get to see or cross
The bridge is in the center of the picture where the cliff make a V
The views we did have were fantastic.

Giants Causeway

Our last stop of the day was at the Giants Causeway. We had reservations at the hotel there and was in time to take the shuttle bus down to the beach. We had an hour to spend before the last shuttle back up to the hotel. A good thing as the road was a steep incline down and would have been much worse coming up.
