Hey all! So in the last post, mom mentioned me messing up my knee. I thought I’d touch on that a little bit.
On April 6, I dislocated my knee. Spectacularly. It was a rare enough injury that two orthopedic surgeons came in to put it back in place. My femur slid down behind my tibia and fibula.
In the process of that happening, I tore a bunch of stuff. My ACL, my PCL, and my LCL. I also stretched my MCL. I have surgery on April 24. Which is 36 days before we fly to Ireland.
Good news is that my surgeon and my physical therapist both know about my trip. They are both saying that as long as I do my exercises and everything goes well, I’ll be able to go. I will be on crutches or in a wheelchair the whole time, but I’ll still be there!
We are steadily moving closer to leaving time! I am so excited, even though my knee is not currently working. But like Gram said, if she can make it, I can make it. She also mentioned something about her being faster than me but I ignored that comment.
Come back soon for the next update!
