A Bus in the Rain

Another morning after post. Whoops.

Yesterday, we spent the day riding the Hop On Hop Off Bus around Glasgow. Gigi stayed at the hotel in the morning so Mom and I went exploring. We rode the bus to the Glasgow Cathedral and we explored the Necropolis on the hill behind it. some of the memorials were HUGE! You can see the scale in one of my photos with mom standing close to them.

It started raining, instead of just misting, so we walked back to the bus. The only seats available were on the top of the bus – outside. So we rode the bus for a few stops in the rain. It was great for seeing the city but not as good for staying dry.

We got off on a stop close to our hotel and got some coffee before going back and getting Gram. We then rode the bus again to the cathedral and really took a look inside.

We got back on the bus and saw a bunch of local landmarks. Our tour guide was an amazing lady. She had a water bottle and looked at me, held it up, took a drink, and goes “it’s only gin” 😂 haha but then she laughed and said oh no it’s tea. We saw an arch where they had the last hanging in Glasgow – a doctor who killed his wife and mother in law! We also saw the largest terracotta fountain in the world and the University of Glasgow.

We stopped at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. We saw suits of armor, weapons, and historical pieces.

We rode the bus on the loop through Glasgow back to our hotel. We ate at the hotel and rested for the rest of the the evening. Mom had beef sliders, which were basically tiny hamburgers. She convinced them to put cheese on them and had burgers and fries. Gigi had tomato soup and I had a chicken tikka sandwich. I’ve added some random pictures at the end of this post so look away! Sterling Castle tomorrow!
